Car Stereo application of WS-Discovery

As I get in and out of my car to go into work or home or wherever, I am typically carrying my 1Gb memory device, as it serves a dual-purpose: it is an mp3 player/portable PnP file server.

A typical day:
Wake up - throw new music or podcast on the player - pack my workout clothes - head to work.

I have used it for two-three practical purposes in the course of this 30 minute stretch. I've prepared myself for the day's work and driving by loading the files/songs I want. I have used the player in my car (right now my stereo has an auxiliary input), and I am prepared to have my player with me when I go running after work.

Herein lies the suggested problem/solution:
When I get into my car, I have to plug in the player to the auxiliary input of the stereo and remember to turn off the player/drive when I get out of the car.

When WS-discovery matures, I should be able to have the device recognize that the car stereo unit is turned off and queue the player that it needs to power down also. This is not the same as having the DC-converter turning off the iPod station plugged into your cigarette lighter space, but similar!

There are many better applications of WS-discovery that will simplify our lives, in the future, but I predict most devices will eventually have a plug similar to the base on your iPod or other devices that transports signals for software, power, and directly communicates with other external devices (audio equipment, "i've fallen and I can't get up device," or visual displays presenting any type of information)
